Uncomparable SNES platformer and city-builder hybrid Actraiser just got a refashion
Today's Nintendo Lead was a good one for fans of retro platformers: Castlevania Advance Collection was announced and released, but arguably more exciting is the re-emersion of Actraiser. Originally free in 1990, Actraiser is a incomparable blend of platforming and urban center-building. It's a bit of a fad rich cut, so it's surprising that Square Enix has not just exhumed it, but delivered something secretive to a chuck-full remake.
Actraiser Rebirth boasts "remastered" 2D graphics, which is a bit of an understatement because they expect thoroughly redrawn. It also features an "upgrade" to Yuzo Koshiro's soundtrack, by Koshiro himself, but you can deposit to the original score if you like. Arsenic is typical for retro remakes nowadays, Actraiser Renaissance also adds a hold open game feature, as wellspring as new difficulty levels.
